Finally getting to wear this gorgeous navy midi dress which was gifted to me by Karen Millen. Wow I don’t know what is going on with the weather in South West London. One day it is bright and sunny with temperatures soaring and the next its raining and bitterly cold. Trying to decide what to wear in advance has been thrown at the window for now. I was so pleased I could wear this dress as navy is not a colour I normally gravitate towards. However this navy midi dress is so feminine, elegant and with a hint of sexiness from its thigh high slit I just could not pass up the opportunity to wear it.
In Mum Life this week, I went to watch Zeke’s performance in his school play. It’s based on Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes “Goldilocks and the three bears”. The children all looked absolutely adorable in their costumes. The play was so much fun to watch and Zeke had a wonderful time too. He was a Juror and was dressed as one of the three little pigs. The children were given a choice of picking a nursery rhyme character they liked and Zeke chose to be a pig. After searching on few sites I managed to find him a onesie costume from Amazon. He was thrilled with that as it can get rather cold in the hall during their rehearsals.
Eli has been set a fiver challenge in maths. They have been put into groups of four to come up with a business idea of making and selling a product. So far there has been lots ideas and testing going on at home. I can’t tell you just yet what the product is as they have not made the final decision yet as to what they will sell.
As for Wyatt he has been busy practicing for the Spring concert which is on next week. It is always a pleasure for me when he performs, he is naturally talented when it comes to music. However, being a shy and quiet child it is so great as a parent to watch him come out of his shell during the performance.
Let get started onto my ensemble at hand and more about this navy midi dress. Like I mentioned earlier this navy midi dress was gifted to me by Karen Millen. I actually chose the dress and this time around went for something in a colour that I would not necessarily have gone for. What caught my eye was the stripe belt in yellow, white and navy. That just drew me in and of course the fact the dress is fitted through the waist and flares out just made me want it even more. The same stripe detail is carried onto the shoulders and the sleeves are short with split openings. The dress has an asymmetrical v neck and invisible zip fastening at the centre back. A beautiful dress which can easily be mistaken for the infamous wrap dress as it is so similar in design.
I wore my navy mid dress to lunch to celebrate my Zeke’s 8th birthday at Benihana’s in Chelsea. It’s the perfect dress for lunching in, so easy and versatile to style. There are so many other ways I could have styled it, but I opted to keep it simple. Well for me this is simple.
Next I opted for my high heeled Espadrilles from Zara. These are in the X lace-up and I absolutely adore them as these give me the elevation I am looking for. Also they make my legs appear to be that much longer too! Espadrilles and wedges are my favourite to wear around this time of year. Hopefully I will get to wear my new pair from Castaners very soon, weather permitting. Here’s being hopeful, I so want to get more content done but keep having to postpone it due to the weather.
I grabbed my new Bamboo Coffer Bag from Mango. The basket bag trend is not going away anytime soon. From oversized beach totes to your miniscule woven baskets, handbag designers have included straw, wicker, rattan and bamboo bags like mine into their collections. Around spring time without fail you will see these in high end stores and on the high street. I have finally jumped on the band wagon and purchased my first basket bag. I am sure I am not the only one as these cute bags are irresistible. Don’t have to take my word for it just take a look on Instagram.
My sunglasses are from Le Specs and are in the LTD Edition Prince style. This futuristic update on the classic aviator features completely flat lenses, and spring hinges for maximum comfort giving the ensemble that little bit of edge it requires. I always love a little bit of edginess to my looks and here I am happy to say that my sunglasses give me that in my opinion.
Finishing off the look I wore Teddy Bear, Velvetines matt liquid lipstick by Lime Crime. Its Vegan and cruelty free too, how great is that! Such a pretty and gorgeous nude colour I just can’t seem to get enough of it. It is a lilac brown shade, on my skin you can see more of the lilac coming through. It’s one I would say to try first as the shade adapts to each individuals skin tone. I adore it and it’s my new go to nude shade for sure! Now all ready to celebrate in style with my boys!
