So this is my 100th blog post to date…. yay, I can’t believe I have reached this milestone. Its an achievement for me as I didn’t see my self as a writer as such. I can see that the more I write the more I am getting better at it. It has actually been really therapeutic and enjoyable thus far, I so want it to carry on like this for the future. I love how it makes me constantly learn new skills, keeps me writing, and connects me to a whole world of other women bloggers and a few men too!
I have been trying to post two post each week since I started. Sometimes I do manage that and other times it just doesn’t happen. This is absolutely fine as there is no deadline unless I am collaborating with a brand. For me being able to share my styling ideas with you all gives me great enjoyment. Editing pictures is always fun and I enjoy that process too. The best part for me has to be the styling part, picturing what I had envisaged when I spotted a piece of garment online, then wearing it and seeing the look of joy that it fits and feels perfect to my style. I am so thrilled to share my blogging journey with you all, thank you so much for coming on this ride with me. Here’s to the next hundred or more posts to follow.
In mum life this week, along with my 100th blog post celebration. We also celebrated my Zeke’s birthday, he is eight years old now. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Of course he had a list of presents he wanted and that included getting money and vouchers! Out of the three of them he is less reluctant to spend his money. Which is always a good thing, he also wanted to go to Benihana’s for a family meal. He adores that place and I guess it reminds him of family time and therefore he keeps wanting to go back there time after time.
I really have to share this with you as it made me laugh so much. As I opened up one of my many emails from online stores and started browsing through all the new items. I came across this dress from D&G. Now Zeke who happened to be sitting next to me was also looking at this too! He turns around to me and says ” Mama look Double G”. At first I was like whats he talking about, but after a few seconds it dawned on me and I realised who he was talking about. He was talking about the character from Game Shakers on Nickelodeon who’s initials are D.G. He hasn’t the foggiest who D&G are and was not clearly interested either in knowing, as I was trying to tell him he just wondered off. Oh well……
Eli got his results back from his grade two Guitar exam and was thrilled to learn that he had passed. So proud of him as he actually practised and put some effort into it. Most of the time I have to remind him! After a long three weeks off on Easter break they are all back at school now for the summer term. Wyatt has been learning his line for his upcoming play The Tudors. It’s not long now before we can go and view the performance and I for one can’t wait. Also this week we are going to the cinema to watch Avengers Infinity War. They have all been so excited, to the point where they have been watching each new trailer with anticipation of new scenes!
Lets get onto my ensemble and this gorgeous bespoke dress. This was tailor made for me, for my sisters wedding and it is similar to the gown Emma stone wore in 2012 at the oscars. It’s the red Giambattista Valli dress if your were wondering. I had decided in advance that I was going to take this dress along with me to Dubai to take some pictures. My initial location was going to be the desert, with me walking towards the sun and the dress flowing in the wind. However in reality this was not going to happen as we were going dune bashing and it just didn’t seem appropriate for me to be wearing a gown in the 4×4 and getting it all creased. Also there wasn’t going to be enough time to take the pictures as the break was really short in between the dune bashing. So that threw my plan out the window, now I had to scout for another location.
Once the reservation for Scape Restaurant and Lounge was made I knew that this was the perfect place for my dress. The backdrop is just picturesque and beautiful perched on the edge of the Burj Al Arab. After lunch I went off to the ladies restroom and quickly changed into my dress and began my photoshoot. My younger sister was the photographer on the day.
This is such an elegant dress in my opinion and is perfect for going to the opera, a wedding or even a prom. With a gorgeous high-neck style and a self tying bow on the side. It is fitted through the body and flares from the waist down. I personally adore a high neck, halter style dress, as it gives me that perfect silhouette I adore.
Here I have styled it with my black high wedge lace-up espadrilles which are from Zara. These give me the elevation I need as the dress is rather long, but I personally prefer that and chose it to be this length. They are also very comfortable to walk around in. Total sucker for lace-ups just love them, and of course many of you will have seen from my previous posts just how much. There were other shoes I could have easily styled with this red dress. I could have paired some high heeled courts in gold which would have worked really well. To tie in the look I could have taken the gold from the shoes and matched it with a gold clutch bag.
My makeup was in neutral, its my everyday base with a nude lipstick. The matt lipstick I wore is Teddy Bear from Lime Crime. Just adore this colour so much and have been wearing this on repeat thanks to my sister. She originally introduced me to this colour and I am so glad that she did.
Now as it was so bright and sunny I put on my Michael Kors sunglasses. I have a habit of squinting specially if it is really bright. Which in turn makes me look like I’m frowning in my pictures. Which I’m totally not, hence the reason for the shades. Anyway I adore sunglasses and would wear them given any chance.
Finishing my look off I decided to wear my hair in a top knot. I mean I could have done a messy bun or several variations of having my hair up and all would have worked rather well. This just lets the dress be the focus and lets the bow stand out!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my 100th blog post. What do you make of this red dress? Do you like the bow detail on the neck? Hope you have enjoyed reading my 100th blog post? If you have any other questions for me please leave a comment below and I shall try my best to answer it.

Gorgeous dress and fantastic photos to celebrate.
I also try to post twice a week, and sometimes it’s one, and sometimes it’s every other week because I’m working on a bigger post. I think its good to go at your own pace and post quality over quantity.
Enjoy celebrating your success!
