Festival Style In High Waisted Shorts

Todays look is on festival style, I am so done with the cold weather and therefore decided to wear this ensemble. All the festivals are around the corner and I thought I would show you my take on what I would wear. My look is for Coachella and I have opted for an all black look with a pop of red.

In Mum Life this week, It was cake sale for Eli on Monday. Now I don’t enjoy cooking, so when it comes to baking I am the same. I may once in a while do it with the boys but most of the time I end up buying the cakes. However, I do make sure that the cupcakes taken into school are allergen free. The money raised from the cakes go to charity and it is a great way for the children to learn about this. Eli very much enjoys this, the part where he gets to sell his cakes and of course eating them too. I mean which child wouldn’t want cake for snack!!

Wyatt went on a school trip to Hampton Court Palace, he is currently learning about the Tudors in History lesson so this ties in with that. He said they all had a wonderful time and the best part was going into the maze. Zeke received a spelling certificate for consecutively getting all his spelling right since last September. He does twenty spellings every week, and I was so proud of him and of course he was very pleased with himself and so he should be.

Lets get started on my festival style with this beautiful Paper Bag high waisted shorts from Zara. They have a side zip and tied belt perfect for cinching you in at the waist. I find high waisted shorts always make your legs look longer then they actually are and adore that.

Next I paired the shorts with this pearl top which is also from Zara. What drew me to this top are the pearl details and the sleeves which have ruching and ties near the cuffs. The top and shorts work rather well together and I have tucked the top in to show off my waist.

I then threw on my floral Kimono to give it some spring vibes and also to keep me warm. Now you could change the top for a bralette and wear the kimono on top or maybe you may want to leave the Kimono out as it would be much warmer in Coachella then what it is in London.

On to the boots, I decided to go for these knee high sock boots that I have owned for a number of years. These are from Karen Millen and come in two materials, leather and suede. If you wanted you could switch these knee high boots for a pair of ankle boots which would work really well.

Hat is a must for me when it comes to festivals and here I have gone for my Whistles Fedora hat in black. Then to my sunglasses and these stunning pair of Le Skinny ones that are from Poppy Lissiman in the colour aubergine/red. To finish off the look I wore red lipstick in the shade RiRi Woo from M.A.C.

I LOVE your outfit! You’re sporting the look flawlessly! I’m very bad at baking so I can totally relate to you about buying cakes! Glad that you took things into consideration and made sure the cupcakes are allergen free!
