The stripe trend was very popular on the runways at every Fashion Week. Whether it was vertical, horizontal, diagonal, pinstripe or dashed. All of these different versions of stripes showed up on the runways, crossing trends and establishing stripes as a major spring/ summer 2018 print trend. Here is my nod to the stripe trend, for an afternoon of High Tea I opted for this gorgeous vertical stipe dress.
In Mum Life, Zeke and his Friday night fives team had their first defeat this season. Let me tell you he was not a happy boy to say the least. He had tears streaming down his face. It didn’t help that he was fouled and the referee didn’t see it. Which of course made him even more upset. Took him at least half an hour to calm down and stop sobbing. Out of my three boys he is the most competitive, its great to see the enthusiasm but I don’t know what to say to him to make it better for him. I guess the best thing to do is just let him cry it out of his system. If any of you have kids and have gone through similar experiences, please do let me know how you handle it? I would love to know your take on that matter.
Eli and three of his year group boys took part in a Maths competition which was against year 7, 8 and year 9 children. Eli is in year 6 and they managed to come second, which he was thrilled with. He told me that the other groups laughed when they entered the room as they were the youngest and assumed they would come last. It was great to hear that they had fun whilst taking part.
Wyatt went to his friends Harry Potter themed birthday party. He had a fabulous time making a wand and spending the evening with all his friends. Although he is not too keen on watching the movies. I think its because when Eli was younger he watched the movies regularly that it has put Wyatt off. I have asked him to watch it on a number of occasions but he always refuses to watch them. We all have different tastes when it comes to movies and I shall let him watch what he is interested in, Marvel movies are his current favourite.
My brother-in-law is getting married in a few weeks time. So a few of us joined my sister-in-law to be for an afternoon of High Tea at B Bakery in covent garden. Such a beautiful cafe it is great for a lovely afternoon tea with a selection of rolls, sandwiches, cakes and of course wide selection of teas. I would highly recommend it for a relaxed afternoon.
This stripe dress was what I decided to wear, it is from Karen Millen and from their SS18 collection. I am so loving this collection as they have so many gorgeous pieces and I cannot wait to get my hands on them. A vertical stripe shirt dress that has buttons running all the way through the front. Such a perfect fit for me as it is fitted around the waist and also comes with a belt. Bonus here is that it has pockets (YAY) and also long sleeves which I am thrilled about.
I teamed the stripe dress with these black Karen Millen two material boots. These are in suede and leather and both work rather well here. I wanted to keep all the accessories to one colour and I opted for black but I could have gone for white and that would have worked equally as well.
Next I grabbed my black Karen Millen bag, it was unintentional but I have gone for head to toe Karen Millen here apart from my sunglasses which are from ASOS and are in the cat-eye style. Finishing off my look I wore my nude Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick in the colour Adrienne.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my fashion blog. What do you make of the stripe trend? Do you like vertical stripe dresses? Would you wear a dress with stripe? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.
