So here is how I am styling my Self-Portrait dress for a night out. This is my second dress that I have purchased from this brand. There is something about theses lace dresses that draws me in each time. I adore the way that although it has all these later cutouts it still isn’t revealing.
So this week in the world of mum, Wyatt has a performance. He will be playing his Clarinet in his schools Performers Platform. He has been practicing away to his credit without me having to ask him to do so. Also his Clarinet exam is coming up very soon actually next month. He will be taking his grade four, not bad for a nine year old who started playing it only two years ago! He seems confident enough and his teacher thinks so too.
Right so back to the ensemble at hand, this gorgeous if I do say so myself raspberry red Self-Portrait dress. Its is in the Hall mini dress which features a combination of dot mesh and geometric lace with a circular lace trim. The bodice features a matching placket and collar stand detail with bandeau and mini skirt lining for coverage. The skirt features a flounced hem detail with a side split.
The fit is just perfect for me I adore how form fitting it is. I tend to find that some dresses are a little loose at times on me specially around the waist. Therefore taking away from the fit of the overall look. I find Self-Portrait dresses to be a great option for a night out. Also for occasions and even for your every day wear. There are dresses in mini, midi and maxi styles. I have a wedding coming up soon and have been looking at their midi and maxi dresses. I have not decided on one yet as there are so many that I like at this moment. Also their SS18 pieces are just absolutely beautiful I have my eye on their Candy Stripe Blazer too. If you have not seen it yet why not take a look here.
Next I opted for my Karen Millen black knee high sock boots. As the dress is a mini I thought I would cover the legs a little as it is a little chilly. If you look close enough at the pictures you can see that I have goosebumps on my legs. Even though I wore some thick socks underneath the boots. However, they sure did keep my feet rather warm.
It’s not warm enough to go out just yet especially without a coat or jacket. Therefore I have draped my Zara black bomber jacket over my shoulders. Its your standard bomber with gold details. It has just enough padding to keep me warm.
As for the accessories, firstly I wore my Marks and Spencer pearl bag across body. This bag has become my go to bag, it is so handy and very practical for a night out and lets not forget how cute it is. It ties in so well with the jacket as the strap come in this gold chain.
Onto my Cat-Eye sunglasses which are from ASOS. By now you all know how much I adore firstly sunglasses and secondly Cat-Eye ones at that. Finishing of my look I went for a nude lip. Wearing my Chanel Coco Rouge in the colour Adrienne. Not forgetting my hair I decided to do a side parting and sweep the hair over to one side and pin it at the back with some bobby pins.
All ready to hit the town!
