I decided I would show you an ensemble around this cobalt blue Calvin Klein jumper. I opted for an all blue look with a pop of yellow and black. You may or may not have seen the resurgence of Calvin Klein recently. The brand has been making a come back since its hay day in the 90’s. It is nearly two years since Raf Simmons was appointed as Chief Creative Director. Last season was his debut for the brand, Raf’s combination of futurism, sleek and elegant lines make him a natural fit for Calvin Klein. I for one can not wait to see what he brings to this brand.
One of my favourite memories of Calvin Klein is the advert that Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss did. Another one is from the movie Clueless, now who remembers Cher Horowitz’s famous quote to do with Calvin Klein? Its when she comes down the stairs wearing this white mini dress. Her father asks her what she is wearing and she says “A Dress”. To which her father says “Say’s who” and her response is “Calvin Klein”. Love that line! I adored that movie, my friend and I knew the words to the whole film back to front. I have not seen it in a long time and wonder if it will have the same feel as it did back then?!
In the world of mum this week, we went to watch Black Panther at the cinema. Zeke my youngest has been counting down to this day since it was announced that they were making a black panther movie. This character really resinates with him, he was so excited and even dressed up in his Black Panther costume. It was such an awesome film and highly entertaining. I would highly recommend everyone to go watch it, it truly is an experience!
Onto my ensemble I shall start off with this Calvin Klein jumper. This actually belongs to my husband and I bought it for him last Christmas. I think subconsciously I was thinking that I would be able to wear it too! I bought this from John Lewis and it fits me perfectly as an oversized jumper. The colour is just gorgeous in this Cobalt blue colour.
I paired this with my Zara cobalt blue skinny jeans. There are in a high waisted style and I have had them for a number of years. Here I have turned up the bottoms to show off my ankles and my shoes. I find the colour to be very bold and one that I adore wearing. I would normally pair it with a white shirt or a tee and some tan wedges and a tan belt to finish the look off.
The shirt is also a Zara piece and is in this lighter shade of blue. It is your basic shirt and and I just wanted to add another shade of blue to the mix. As for my shoes I wore these high heeled blue and black pair from Dune London. They work so well with my whole look and the black on them brings in the second shade of colour to my outfit.
So onto my PU black Baker Boy Hat from TopShop, I purchased this recently and I am so pleased with it. So handy that I have been wearing it on repeat and is practical for those drizzly days when the rain is not heavy enough to bring out my umbrella. For me its just handy to keep the rain off my face. If you are interested, TopShop currently have a few more selection of Baker Boy Hats you can find them here.
These bad boy sunglasses are from the brand Blank Sunglasses. If you know me, you will know that I adore sunglasses that are a bit quirky. Don’t get me wrong I do also love classic pairs too! I really could not pass up the opportunity to purchase these. They are one of those items that as soon as I saw the them I knew I had to have it. In this futuristic style that may not be to everyones taste. Thats fine with me, as I always stay true to what I like and what makes me happy.
Now for the third colour I opted for this Yellow mini bag from Karen Millen. You probably thought there wasn’t going to be an item in this look that wasn’t from them! Or may you did, and you know me so well and know how much I adore this brand. A cute little bag with a wide strap which will not fail to impress in my opinion. A vintage Karen Millen bag that makes a rare appearance but is always a show stopper.
As for my make up I kept it simple with a bold red lip and red nails. I am wearing Russian Red by M.A.C on my lips and OPI Red by OPI on my nails. To finish the look off I have swept my hair back and tied it in a ribbon.
