My whole look for this ensemble is around this navy Reefer jacket. I was contemplating and trying to decide what I was going to wear today. The weather again being the ultimate decision maker, isn’t this always the way. As it is slightly warmer than the last few days I am going to wear my navy reefer coat.
Christmas holidays are always a busy time of period for us. Both myself and my husband come from a very big family and we have to split our time between the two. This year we spent our Christmas day at my brother-in-laws place with the rest of my husbands family. It is not a small gathering as such with seventeen people including the kids at one time.
As always it was a wonderful and fun day of loads of laughter and chatting followed by eating, eating and more eating. Then afterwards all the men and boys going to the park for a run around so the boys would run off some of their energy before having dessert.
This Reefer jacket is absolutely stunning and you don’t have to take my word for it just look at it. It is in the colour navy and I bought it from Karen Millen. Yes I know another Karen Millen piece, but I have mentioned before how well tailored their coats and jackets are and also the fact that they fit so well. They also last the test of time too and another reason I keep purchasing from them this brand. The Reefer jacket to me is just so elegant and can make the most casual attire look very put together. Whats not to love about this, I adore the gold piping details, the fold over pockets, the shoulder details and the buttons on the cuffs with the gold piping just finishes the jacket.
I wore my rats legging from Sass and Bide and I bought these years ago from Net-A-Porter on sale. They are great when it comes to layering as I personally don’t like to overheat and these are very thin in material. So wearing thigh high boots with them is just ideal and practical. With a slight shine to them they are just how I like them. One of my favourite pieces to wear as they are just so comfortable yet a very versatile piece of garment in my opinion.
As for my shirt I opted for my Zara oversized shirt. I love this Zara embroidered oversized shirt with the lapel collar and long sleeves. The shirt features floral embroidery on the shoulders and back. It comes in an A-line silhouette with asymmetric hemline and button-up fastening in the front. This shirt is really pretty and very easy to style. Teamed with the Reefer jacket it is the perfect combination in my eyes. With it being slightly shorter at the front and longer at the back it gives the ensemble that extra edge that I was looking for.
So for the longest time I have been wanting to wear these thigh high boots from Ego Officials. I tried to style them with dresses and they are just that bit wide at the top for me and just didn’t look right to me. I knew with the leggings giving me that extra bit of layer was going to do the trick. And I am not going to lie I was very pleased with the outcome and very pleased to finally wear them. The boots have a side zip and blocked heels in an open toe design. A perfect match with the legging and I don’t have to worry about the boots slouching down or even looking too big for my legs.
Now to the accessories I decided to team my Modalu Pippa bag with this ensemble. Going for the black one as I just wanted to keep it very monochromatic looking. The bag is big enough to carry all sorts of items other than your everyday essentials and I adore it for that reason as I always carry my umbrella in my bag and this bag accommodates for it. Such a chic and elegant bag with plenty of room and space and as a mum of three I need that space. The boys always throw their iPods into my bag and any other games or toys they may have!
Keeping my head warm and adding to my overall look is my trusted Whistle’s hat. After much searching for a fedora hat I came across this one during this summer. An added bonus was the fact that it was on sale of course, there was no hesitation on my part when it came to purchasing it. Such a great accessory to add to most looks.
Finally I reached for my Le Specs sunglasses in the LTD Prince edition. These have the reflective mirror design and I totally adore the futuristic vibes they give off.
What do you think of the Reefer coat? Do you own one too? Are you planning to buy one? Or is it just not for you? Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Thank you for reading my fashion blog.
