Party Dress And Sparkle

Party season is upon us so as I was heading out for lunch with my family the other day. I decided that I would take this opportunity to wear one of my party dress. My youngest sister is over here for Christmas from Abu Dhabi and is staying with us for a few days. We all decided to head out to Jackson and Rye in Richmond.

A perfect spot for a restaurant just by the river with gorgeous views and stunning surroundings. Most of the family made it to the lunch and it was a wonderful get together with laughter as usual with my Wyatt falling asleep by the end of the meal which is always the way. If you are ever around this neck of the wood I highly recommend checking them out!

There are plenty of choices when it comes to party dresses, do you want a gown, a little black dress, a red number, something a little quirky or even sparkly. Whatever you decide on I am sure you will dazzle in it and most of all have a fabulous time.

My choice of dress is this pretty little black dress from Karen Millen. I adore this party dress as it is a little bit different from your everyday little black dress. The sleeves are in a quarter length and have these beautiful bow details on it. A knee length dress with a petticoat underneath it to give it some volume. Cinched at the waist by this attached belt with the same bow detail as the sleeves but with an added silver buckle to finish. A simple party dress with a touch of flare in my opinion!

Now to the shoes and I opted for these black Kurt Geiger ankle boots with laces. These come out on special occasions as they are extremely high heeled, but I adore them and can’t resist them. I was not going to be standing up a lot therefore the perfect choice with this party dress. They remind me of the Christian Louboutin’s Troopista lace-up ankle boots. At a fraction of the cost I don’t mind not wearing them on a regular basis.

I wanted the black colour theme to continue and grabbed my Karen Millen mini bag. What drew me to this bag was the sparkling details, a perfect match with this party dress. Just enough sparkle to compliment the black ensemble. It is large enough to fit all my essentials unfortunately not beg enough to fit my iPhone 7. I wasn’t going to be using my phone anyway and also I had big enough pockets in my coat to slip it in there, so problem solved.

My jewellery was from non other than Swarovski, I love this brand for their sparkling jewellery. A great combination which goes hand in hand at this time of year and any other special occasions. The pierced earring are in the drop design with white Rhodium plating. The necklace is also in the white Rhodium plating and is just big enough with out being overpowering and sits very well with the shape of the neckline of my party dress. To finish the sparkle I also wore my tennis style bracelet to tie in the whole look.

Ensemble is all sorted, now for hair and makeup. I put my hair up in a top knot to show off the neckline and also to showcase my jewellery too. Make-up I kept to a minimum as I was wearing red on my lips. This red lipstick is from MAC and is in the colour Ruby Woo.

Before heading out I put on my black coat which also happens to be from Karen Millen. A gorgeous double breasted fit and flare coat, which looks so elegant. This is a coat which definitely keeps me warm and also looks very stylish. All in all a great coat to wear over my party dress.

Now I am starving and looking forward to enjoying my meal with my family. I can tell you that I was not in the least bit disappointed with the food or the surroundings. A child friendly restaurant with wonderful waiters and waitresses who were more than accommodating and helpful. By the time we had finished our meal and ready to leave the sun had set and the views of the bridge and the River Thames was just breathtaking. All the Christmas decorations were up which made it even more special for the boys, who loved taking a stroll by the river and to watch the boats sail by. To be honest I enjoyed it too!
