If your wondering how to style a deconstructed blazer, well I wouldn’t ponder too much about it. Just think of it as you everyday blazer and go from there. I am so into garments that have a quirky unique look that its no surprise that when I came across this blazer I knew instantly that I was going to purchase it.
I am still recovering from the weekend having had a rather busy weekend. Our weekends are normally busy, but this week was more so, my eldest had his mock exam for his 11 plus. For those of you asking what that is, well here in the UK children sit these exam to get into certain schools. It doesn’t apply to all schools only those selective ones. His actual exam is going to be in January so I just can’t wait for it to be over. He has been working extremely hard and I know he wants to be done with it all too!
Now back to my ensemble, when I was browsing on the Asos website and happen to come across this deconstructed blazer I knew that I wanted it. The bonus here is that it is on sale at the moment and I couldn’t believe my luck that they still had a size four. Of course I added it to my basket straight away and completed the transaction. You know how these sizes always get sold out so quickly.
I find most of the time that items in the sale tend be out of stock in my size. Well you can imagine how delighted I was when I saw that they still had my size in this deconstructed blazer. Such a wonderful feeling for me when I can get something I really admire and it happens to be on sale. I guess its my way of telling myself that I haven’t spent too much. Although I find that whatever I save from the sale I end up spending on other items. How many of you also do that? At least I can say I bought two items instead of one to make my self feel good.
The key piece of my ensemble is this navy deconstructed blazer with stripes, peak lapels and an asymmetrical cut. This trend is going to be very popular next season as seen on the runways for SS18 from the likes of Monse and Dion Lee to name a few.
I styled my deconstructed blazer with a white long sleeve dress. This dress is from Zara and has these gorgeous embroidery details on it. I went for the white as it gives the blazer that backdrop it needs to stand out. The long sleeves add another layer under the blazer to ensure I stay warm.
As for my boots I went for these knee length suede boots from Karen Millen. I purchased my boots a few years ago and they tend to get worn on repeat around this time of year. These are in two materials, suede and patent and I absolutely like how the two compliment each other. It is in the very trendy sock style that is very popular at the moment. For those of you who have wider calves than me this will sit rather snugly. I have a big problem when it comes to knee high boots as they always seem to be too wide for me around the calf. I can get away with mine being wide here as the boots look like they are supposed to be ruched.
To keep in with the colour of the white dress I opted for my Missguided bag. This bag has popped up a numerous times in my last blog posts. I adore the wide straps and the silver detail of the fold over clasp. A super little bag that is stylish and edgy at the same time. One that is also versatile as you can see for your selves as i have worn it on a number of occasions.
Staying on the edgy front I picked yet another pair of cat-eye sunglasses that works so well with the deconstructed blazer. As you may or may not know I love cat-eye sunglasses, they are my favourite style at the moment. These are also from Asos and are a fabulous pair of affordable sunglasses.
