High cuff jeans and trousers are a big trend this season if you haven’t already jumped on the band wagon yet I am sure you will soon. Most of us roll up the bottoms of our jeans depending on the shoes or boots we wear. So weather you are intending to do it yourself by purchasing an extra long pair of jeans and roll them up or get a pair that already has them done just make sure that the cuffs are high. I would recommend getting high cuff jeans in the boyfriend style. They work very well on them in my opinion and other trousers/pants that have a wider leg.
I must say this is my first ever pair of boyfriend jeans as I have a small waist and generally it does nothing for my waist and looks rather baggy. I waited a while to find a right pair that fitted me well and ones that were not so baggy in my opinion. When I came across these high cuff jeans and saw them on the model I knew they were the ones for me. Having returned a few number of them in past because I did not like how they looked on me. I waited in anticipation on whether these high cuff jeans were going to fit me the way I want them to.
Once they arrived I could not wait to tear open the box and try them on. I was so relieved and pleased as they fit me so well although I could have done with a size down unfortunately they didn’t have that size. I didn’t mind as they were not far off and a little give is always nice to have.
My main focus on this whole ensemble is around these gorgeous high cuff Jeans. They are from Guess and I bought them online, I own several pairs of jeans from them and have been so pleased in the past that I shouldn’t have doubted my decision on purchasing these. They come in this distressed design and the cuffs are really high as you can see and that is one of the main reasons I got them in the first place.
It also has a button at the top with a concealed zip fastening at the front. The jeans are in a straight high-rise, boyfriend fit which has five pockets. The high cuff has seen a return to the denim stage and therefore this fashion seasons homage to the 70s. I love flared jeans and wear them all year round so I am one for any kind of homage to the 70’s.
As the high cuff jeans are in a faded wash style I opted for a white shirt to keep in with the lightness of the jeans. If you are ever looking for unique high end high street shirts then Karen Millen is your place to go. The tailoring on their garments is just top notch and you can be sure that your shirts will last you the test of time. Take my word for it as I have previously bought a number of white shirts from them and I still have them. After several trips to the dry cleaners they still look white and new.
The trumpet sleeve on this shirt is just what makes it so unique and stand out. A great piece to layer under another garment especially a sleeveless top, coat or dress. It is a well fitted shirt and works very well with my high cuff jeans.
To show case the sleeves on my shirt I decided to wear my eyelet vest coat from Zara. It has these big eyelets at the front and comes with a ribbon. You could fasten it by doing a criss cross detail all the way down. If that doesn’t take your fancy then just tie it in a bow like I have done in the middle. Or another option, just don’t use the ribbon at all and leave it undone. The coat is knee length long and I find that to be a perfect length to still show the high cuff jeans. The material on this is eyelet vest coat is very thick and does definitely keep me warm. A perfect combination in my opinion with the statement sleeve shirt.
Following on from the vest coat I wanted to tie in the look and keep the black colour theme from the coat going. So I styled the ensemble with these Ego Official black ankle sock boots. Sock boots are are not going anywhere anytime soon. Much to my delight as I do adore them as they are what I have been wearing for a number of years now in the knee length. With these on the focus is still on the high cuff jeans.
As for my bag I was looking for a white bag that worked well with the shirt and therefore opted for this little gem from Missguided. With a gorgeous wide strap and a magnetic fold over clasp its just perfect in my opinion. Has enough room to fit all your daily essentials and super stylish at the same time.
My bold white sunglasses was a must in this case as the white tone on the shirt and glasses matched so well. I am loving this as they sure do make a statement and give the whole ensemble an edge. They are from River Island and are very affordable, if you are unsure about a white pair of sunglasses why not try these on first before purchasing a high end pair.
I kept my lips nude as the whole look was bold enough without having to add a bold coloured lipstick too. This is Adrienne from the Chanel Coco Rouge collection, a great nude that works so well with my skin tone and is great for everyday use.
Finally my watch, which I always wear with all my ensembles. It is a vintage Gucci watch with a rectangular face, it is small and cute and I just adore it. Most of the time it is mistaken for a bracelet so it has dual usage which is a bonus. Also it is very sentimental hence the reason I wear it constantly.
