When you hear corduroy you probably envisage your uncool teacher wearing a blazer that has patches on the elbows or the seventies styles. Well let me tell you, this season there are plenty of corduroy pieces you can choose from to make a bold statement. All this without having you look like your school teacher! If you are not ready for an all over corduroy ensemble, then why not go for just one item to start off with.
I am wearing my corduroy blazer here from Karen Millen which I have owned for a number of years now. The colour is just gorgeous in this deep oxblood hue. This has been tailored so well and I adore the fit and style. It is just how I like it, however if your not into a well fitted blazer there are plenty of oversized blazers on the high street and in high end stores too. I personally prefer the more fitted style.
Like I mentioned earlier this gorgeous oxblood hue Corduroy Blazer is from Karen Millen. This single-breasted style has been made from plush corduroy which is peaked with notched lapels and long sleeves that have buttons on the cuffs. A stunning blazer which has a front button closure, a chest pocket and two front flap pockets with a rear slit detail to finish.
A must have classic piece in my opinion and one that can be worn year after year! At the time there were plenty of bright red blazers but I personally was not feeling them. Hence the reason for opting for this corduroy blazer in the oxblood hue. Now few years on and it is on trend! Yay, I made a good choice and going forward will stick to my instincts when purchasing items like this.
I wanted to keep the rest of the ensemble black so that the corduroy blazer would pop even more against all the black. Here I chose to wear my coated jeans from Guess. These are in the biker style with zip details on the thighs. A great pair of coated jeans that are so easy to wear and are comfortable too.
The black shirt is also from Karen Millen, I know yet another piece from them. Like I have mentioned several times before in my earlier blogs I just adore their clothing. This shirt has collars in the grandad style with a concealed zip fastening at the front. With long sleeves that have buttons on the cuffs and a slight gathering of material at the back to showcase your waist. It definitely isn’t your average black shirt for sure.
The knee length ruched black boots are from Karen Millen too! These are in two materials, suede and patent and I absolutely like how the two compliment each other. The boots work very with the rest of the ensemble. It is in the very trendy sock style that is very popular at the moment.
As for the accessories I started with my Marks and Spencer faux pearl cross body bag. This is a gorgeous bag which is regularly featured in my blog time after time. With enough room for your everyday essential what more do you need from a bag like this! The faux pearl details make the bag stand out, and it also come with a gold chain strap. I wear mine cross body most of the time, but it can be just worn on one shoulder if you prefer.
My trusted Le Specs sunglasses in the Prince LTD edition. Theses are in the mirrored aviator style. Have I mentioned how much I adore this brand for their sunglasses. They sell very affordable sunglasses that are stylish and statement worthy to say the least.
To complete my look I swept my hair in a ponytail with a little puff at the front. For my lips I wore Ruby Woo lipstick from MAC, the colour goes so well with my corduroy blazer and ties in the whole look.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my fashion blog. I would love to hear what corduroy pieces are your favourite this season.
