As I sit here tapping away at my keyboard writing this blog post on my striped peplum knit dress. I am reminiscing about the other day when I got to wear this gorgeous dress. The weather was much milder than it is today, and the sun was shining bright. It feels much colder today and I would not be tempted to walk out of the house without a coat or a jacket of some sort. Knit dresses are a firm favourite of mine around this time of year.
I find knit dresses to be very easy to style and the comfort level in wearing them is just awesome. There is no need for layering in my case when it comes to wearing a knit dress. They keep me warm and cosy without being to hot. I tend to get warm very quickly and i personally hate that feeling. I would rather be a little colder then start sweating and feeling dizzy at the same time.
This striped peplum knit dress is another one of my purchases from Karen Millen which I bought couple of year ago. I fell in love with it instantly as I loved the peplum detailing on the dress. It looks so chic and elegant in my opinion. You can wear it for an evening out or for a day time event. I have previously worn this to an afternoon of high tea. The dress is knee length with vertical stripes at the front. The only stripe part at the back of the dress is the peplum. It features a boat neck and three quarter length sleeves which balloon out a little. There is a zip fastening at the back of the dress.
I styled the stripe peplum knit dress with these super gorgeous suede black ankle boots from Dune London . You may have become accustom to my love for lace-ups. I am sure I have mentioned this several times in my previous posts. It is undeniable and I can’t get enough of them. They feature a cut out detailing at the front of the boots and at either sides of the ankles. With pointed toes and metal eyelet lace-up fastening that go all the way to the ankles. Also comes with slim high heels which work very well with this dress.
To finally bring the whole look together I grabbed my favourite little bag. This faux pearl cross body bag is from Marks and Spencer and since buying it I have been wearing it rather a lot. The bag works very well with this whole look, the black goes well with my suede ankle boots. It is a good size bag which carries all my everyday essentials. With a fold over magnetic clasp and faux pearls at the front, giving it that added glamour. It happens to be very similar to the Gucci padlock faux pearl bag which can be found here (@Gucci) but at a fraction of the price if anyone is interested.
