Wearing a knit dress during the Autumn and Winter season is one of my favourite things to do as it so easy to style them and they also keep you warm. I wore this gorgeous embroidered knit dress to my sisters farewell party as she was off to Abu Dhabi for two years on a teaching assignment.
It was an appropriate dress and very fitting for the restaurant and club we went to in the heart of London. The restaurant was a new Nigerian fusion restaurant that had opened recently. We thought we would try it out and see what all the buzz was about. After all there was so much talk about this restaurant.
After the meal we headed to a night club to dance the night away, to my amazement I couldn’t believe I managed to stay awake past midnight! Those of you who have children will understand what I am talking about. We had a fabulous time to say the least, as for my dress I got a whole heap of compliments which made my night even more wonderful! Who doesn’t love hearing compliments?!!!! All in all a perfect night with so much fun, enjoyment and laughter with the best company, my family and friends.
If you haven’t already guessed, this gorgeous black long sleeve knit dress is from Karen Millen. Like I have mentioned before I just adore their pieces year after year! The embroidery details on this knit dress is just so beautiful and this makes a huge statement. The dress has a funnel neck with gold-tone floral embroidery all across the yoke and sleeves. As for the finishing touches, it has a gold-zip fastening at the back and gold buttons on the cuffs. What could have been your everyday black knit now has the wow factor from the embroidery, and this makes it stand out from the rest.
A stunning knitted pencil dress which is a luxurious translation of the opulent embroidery trend. I would recommend this as a must-have piece for this autumn/winter season. Making this knit dress perfect for a night out and also very easy to style. With all the dancing that I did, it was not restricting at all.
Now for the shoes I styled my knit dress with these peep-toe ankle boots which are also from Karen Millen. A great pair of boots that are very comfortable to wear, therefore they are always my first option. They come in a stretch material making it very easy to put them on. Theses have been in my wardrobe for a number of years now. There is a similar pair of peep-toe boots which look exactly like mine. The only difference is that mine are made from an elasticated material and the ones online at Karen Millen have a zip at the back and comes in the chevron knit style.
As for my bag, I decided to go for my Marks and Spencer faux pearl cross body bag. The bag works very well with this dress as it has a gold chain, this accents the gold embroidery from the knit dress. It is a good size bag which carries all my everyday essentials. With a fold over magnetic clasp and faux pearls at the front, giving it that added glamour. It happens to be very similar to the Gucci padlock faux pearl bag which can be found here (@Gucci) but at a fraction of the price.
I went for a red lipstick in the colour Russian Red from M.A.C and kept the rest of my face to a minimal look. I felt that the red lipstick was bold enough and didn’t want to overpower my face with an intense eye look as well. As for my hair I left it out with a middle parting.
To bring my whole look together I went for my trusted sunglasses from Le Specs in the Rapture style. These cat-eye sunglasses are just so fabulous and get a lot of wear, they happen to be my current favourite. Definitely can’t wait to add a few more to my collection.
