Here is my take on styling an eyelet vest coat. This beautiful vest coat is from Zara and is perfect for layering. It has these big eyelets at the front and comes with a ribbon. You could fasten it by doing a criss cross detail all the way down. If that doesn’t take your fancy then just tie it like I have done in a bow. Or just don’t use the ribbon at all and leave it undone. The coat is knee length long and I find that to be a perfect length for me. The material on this is eyelet vest coat is very thick and will definitely keep you warm. Therefore making it a great transitional piece for autumn and winter. It also has these long slits on either side giving the vest coat some movement when you walk.
So I decided to wear a long sleeve jumper underneath this sleeveless coat. This way I could showcase the fluted sleeves and button details of this gorgeous ribbed jumper from Karen Millen. Another Karen Millen piece from their A/W collection. It comes in a bold orange colour which is very fitting for October as Halloween is not that far off. A very autumnal piece which has a funnel neck and exaggerated full length fluted sleeves that have splits on them. These have been concealed by shiny black buttons which add some flare to the jumper. Also as the rest of the ensemble is all black the orange jumper just stands out.
For the bottoms I have gone for these low-rise biker leggings in stretch faux leather from H@M. Comes with quilted details on the knees and features zip detailing on the pockets and has a front fastening. They have some stretch to them which is good as you don’t want to be struggling to get into them. The fit is very snug and thats what I expected them to be and I absolutely adore them. My new favourite biker leggings. It come in a matt finish which I personally prefer, I know some people prefer the shiny PU ones. There’s nothing wrong with them its just for this look I wanted a matt finish as the jumper was bold enough.
Next for my boots I went for these stunning suede black ankle boots from Dune London. They have a cut out detail with a pointed toe, metal eyelet lace-up fastening and a slim high heel. The lace-ups is what drew me to these in the first instance. You all know by now my love of lace-up shoes and boots, this is just another one to add to the collection. I got these in the sale and I am so glad that I did as I am already getting a lot of wear out of them. Goes rather well with the faux leather leggings and gives the ensemble that edge that I am looking for. I have tucked them into the boots as the opening of the boots are wide enough to do so.
Here it is again my Marks and Spencer bag with the faux pearl detailing. I just can’t get enough of this bag and for a reasonably priced bag it sure is getting a lot of wear. The faux pearl just brings the bag its stylish look and making it look expensive then it really is. With just enough room to fit all your everyday essentials. A perfect nod to the Gucci bag at a fraction of the cost, whats not to love!
For the final touch, I wore my vintage Michael Kors sunglasses. These come in a wrap frame design for a wider coverage and have wide arms. Thought I would switch from my cat-eye sunglasses and wear these for a change. In this classic style I can wear them season after season without having to worry about weather or not they are on trend.
