It’s no surprise that I bought this camel coat the other week from Karen Millen. I am a huge admirer of Karen Millen and have been buying from this brand for over twenty years now. Yes thats right, over twenty years! I still have some pieces that have lasted the test of time. To this day they are still in really good condition. Since the garments are made from such quality fabrics, you would not be able tell how old they are.
Looking back I remember when I started shopping way back then, they didn’t do a size six. The smallest size was an eight, like most stores at the time. There was no problems with wearing tops, jumpers and coats in a size eight. However I had to get dresses, skirts and trousers taken in around the waist. Glad to say I don’t have to do that these days. Not having to get my garments altered saves a lot of time and money. Although there are times I do come across items of clothing that do need to be taken in a little to fit well.
Now I can order online and not have to worry about sizing or the quality of the garments. Even before the items arrive I know I will love them. There are no doubts in my mind that the pieces are going to be how I envisaged them. To be honest, I cannot remember the last time I have returned a piece of garment because I did not like it. If you were to venture into my wardrobe you would for sure find that eighty percent of my clothing is from Karen Millen and that’s no exaggeration. When it comes to dresses my first stop is always Karen Millen as I know the sizing will always fit. So its no surprise that this ensemble happens to be head-to-toe in Karen Millen. The only Items that are not from them, are my bag and sunglasses.
This black long sleeve knitted pencil dress is a luxurious translation of the opulent embroidery trend. The dress has a funnel neck with gold-tone floral embroidery across the yoke and sleeves. This is what makes the dress stand out. It has been finished with a gold-zip fastening at the back and gold buttons on the cuffs. A stunning piece for a night out which can be styled so easily.
I paired it up with these black ankle peep-toe shoe boots, now these are a few years old, but they do have a similar pair in stock at the moment. Only differences between them is that mine doesn’t have a zip at the back and it isn’t in the chevron knit style. You really could not tell the difference unless you took a closer look. My boots go so well with the dress and elongate my legs too at the same time, which is always a good thing in my opinion.
This will be a staple piece in my wardrobe this autumn/winter and I can see my self wearing this camel coat over and over again. It comes in this gorgeous camel-brown colour which is such a big favourite when it come to the autumn season. The quality of this coat is to a high standard. You can see why, as it has been tailored from premium Italian fabric. It has these peak lapels, pockets and button details at the front and on the cuffs. A beautiful camel coat which will definitely be your go to coat for this season. You will for sure be seeing more of this coat on my blog in the near future so look out for it.
To keep in with the gold embroidery on the dress I styled this outfit with my Marks and Spencer faux pearl cross body bag. Comes with a gold chain and in this instance works very well together with the gold embroidery on the dress. You would have seen this bag pop up several times in my past blogs, I absolutely love it and it goes with nearly everything I wear. It is large enough to fit all your essentials including your iphone! To finish my look off I went for my trusted sunglasses from Le Specs in the Rapture style. I love cat-eye sunglasses and can not wait to add a few more to my collection.
