If your anything like me when it comes to packing for holidays, then you will always tend to over pack. I start off by getting my outfits ready by the number of days we are going to stay. An outfit for each day right! Then I think oh what if that gets dirty let me take an extra pair just incase. Before you know it I end up taking double the amount I need. It also depend on where we are going, as this makes a big difference as to how much I will pack, colder climates tend to have less number of clothing as everything weighs a lot so your forced to take one or two jumpers etc at the most. Sunnier climates you tend take a lot more because the pieces are light in weight, so you can take fourteen bathing suits and bikinis or more if you like.
When I am on holiday I try and make the most of the location I am staying at to get as much content done as possible. Therefore I make sure I take as many outfits as I can. My husband happens to be my photographer and he is no professional, he will tell you that himself. When we are at home he can only take pictures at the weekends as he is working during the week, and even then we are stretched for time. Of course he doesn’t not want to be spending his Saturday or Sunday taking pictures of me, but he does it because he knows it means a great deal to me!
We definitely have not got the time to be driving around looking for different locations to shoot. We have three children and I can assure you they do not want to be sitting in the back of the car being driven to different locations so that I can have my picture taken. With all their extra activities going on at the weekend I just about squeeze an hour if that to get some content done. I am sure a lot of you mums out there understand my struggle!
I was thinking how I could use one garment that can be used again in another outfit to get the most wear out of it. I thought why not use my bathing suit to be an outfit option as well as swimming in it. If your unlike me and want to take the minimum amount of clothing on holiday then here is your two in one solution to packing less. Try wearing your bathing suit as a bodysuit like I have done here. This gorgeous one piece is from We Are Handsome and is in this green multicoloured carnival print. It comes in stretch-polyester fabric and is fully lined. I love the exposed zip fastening at the front, it definitely is an eye catching one piece that will surely make you stand out from the crowd. I love how vibrant it is and just looks so funky and edgy. I teamed this up with my white high waisted Zara paper shorts with the side tie. These get a lot of wear and you may have seen them pop up in my previous posts. If you have not had a chance why not go check them out to get some ideas as to the different ways you can style them.
You can throw on a blazer on top to get a polished look in my opinion. Here I have gone for my Zara blazer, a simple fitted blazer which is not a bright white in colour like the shorts but it still works together. As for the accessories I have styled my shoes which happen to have the similar green colour as my bathing suit. These stunning kitten heels are from Jimmy Choo and really do work well together by giving the outfit a monochromatic look. I teamed my outfit with this M & S cross body bag in black. Such a cute little bag with pearls on the front flap, a gold chain and a magnetic fold over clasp. It has enough room to fit all your essentials. My black sunglasses are from Michael Kors and ties in perfectly with the colour of my bag.
