Ted baker pink STRAPLESS dress

So the kids are back at school now, I thought I would be pleased to see them go back, but the house is quiet and I miss them! Back to the morning rush which I despise, as traffic is horrendous and the boys don’t see the urgency in leaving at a certain time. They always say to me, “we have never been late so why do you always tell us to hurry up” and my answer always is because I make sure we leave on time. Also not looking forward to the multiple trips back and forth because one of them has forgotten something!

It is always daunting at the start of their summer holidays when they have nearly nine weeks off, and I think to my self how will I keep them occupied so they are not bored or on their electronics all day long. As I have learned over the years that when we are not away on holiday book them in for activities, mine enjoy football, tennis and swimming so thats what I book. Also depending if any of their friend are around we also organise some playdates too. In turn this makes a somewhat smoother nine weeks of holiday, without them squabbling and me having to yell at them to stop it!

Now that they are at school my husband and I can meet up for lunch too, we call it our date day. Date nights are rare in our household as both my husband are too tired most of the time to go out and also means we have to get my mother in-law to baby sit or my sisters as my boys refuse to be baby sat by anyone outside of the family. They don’t mind if they know the person but a total stranger will not work. I don’t blame them as I personally prefer someone from the family or a friend. It puts my mind at ease and don’t have to worry at all and can enjoy ourselves. Date days are so much easier as I can just drive up and meet my husband have lunch and be back in time to pick the boys up from school.

On this occasion we headed to The Gordon Ramsay restaurant Maze, which is situated in Mayfair. I decided to wear my baby pink strapless dress from Ted Baker, it has a concealed side zip fastening, a fitted waist, a full shape skirt and a high low hem. The bodice is boned and fits snuggly, therefore I do not require a bra. The bonus of course is that it has pockets, yay!!! I kept it simple as it is a day date by pairing it with my Karen Millen booties in black, I love these and they are always my first options of heels as they are so comfortable to wear. To keep in with the black I opted for my M & S pearl detailed bag, a gorgeous bag that looks so high end and I always get complements on it. Make-up was kept to minimum with a nude lip and I put my hair up in a top knot. The food was delicious to say the least, I would highly recommend the restaurant. So if you get a chance, when you are visiting London next or happen to be a local go and try it out, I can not fault the food or the atmosphere.

Lunch over now to head back to the school to pick up the boys, but not before I make a little pitstop at Little Waitrose to pick up some snacks for the boys. Normally I would prepare this at home but as there is no time for me to go home I just get it from Little Waitrose.
