What to wear to a Pool Party

Another pool party outfit, well you can’t have too many in my opinion. One of my favourite styles is to combine a swimsuit or bikini with a skirt, it is just so easy and not a lot of thought goes into it for me. After years of practice in having to get ready quickly I think I can safely say I have somewhat mastered the art of getting ready in a short amount of time. I need to be able to choose my outfits quickly and be ready asap as I have three impatient boys or dare I say four including my husband. Although most of the time they are very understanding and give me the time to get ready specially now that the boys are older and can entertain them selves without us having to be with them all of the time.

This however was not the case when they were younger, there were many a times when I used to carry them whilst deciding what I was going to wear and barely putting them down to change. Also doing my makeup whilst carrying a baby, many of you will say well why did you not put them down, well I can tell you that mine loved to be carried and did not like the idea of being left by themselves. I did try on many occasions but that made them cry and I hated hearing them cry which in turn would also stress me out.

So I just learnt to do things faster and sometimes with one hand, after several months I had become more efficient in doing things whilst carrying a baby. When my husband was at home we would take it in time to get ready, he would get ready first whilst I got the boys ready and then it would be my turn and he would look after them. That was our routine for a long time and it is when you have young children, well it was for us! I am sure a lot of you mums can relate!

On this beautiful scorching day I decided to wear this ensemble, I was already wearing my white criss cross halter monokini from Asos. This is a gorgeous monokini and one of my favourite pieces I love the white against my skin, even more now as I am two shades darker. I know that my Guess skirt would really go well with the white monokini so I paired them together. The skirt has some blue on it in a tie-dye effect, it also features some silver details around the waist and on the top of the pockets. It is a bonus when skirts and dresses have pockets on them like this one. It is a little see through so ideal as a coverup, and for the heat too! As for the accessories I went for my Zara black X lace up espadrilles and my Black quilted Karen Millen clutch, both worked well with the whole outfit.

Here are few of my favourite white swimsuits and skirts:
