How to style a Playsuit/Romper in hues of blue

Whether you call it a playsuit or a romper, this ultra lightweight and super stylish summer statement simply can’t be ignored. This one I am wearing is from Zara with the embroidery details on the back. It is just so cute! There are so many choices out there, from structured shapes, smart designs and dressier fabrics, making this a very wearable staple piece for day or night.

Not only will the playsuit/romper certainly give you fabulous looks for various different occasions, it’s style is very easy, saving you time from fussing about trying to choose separate pieces. All you need to do is just pop it on and choose some shoes and accessories. The endless variations whether it be high end or on the high street means that there is something for all shapes and sizes. Here are some easy style inspirations on how to style a playsuit:

Pick the right shape for you: Pick the style that’s right for you. We are all different shapes and sizes from being top or bottom heavy, pear, apple, or hourglass shape. It all about picking the right playsuit/romper which will fit your top and bottom at the same time.

What shoes to wear with your playsuit/romper: If you want to keep your look casual go for flats, like a pair of gladiator sandals, backless loafers or even flip flops for a summery mood. For a more elegant look you may want to go with some, mules or loafers paired up with a blazer. Pair some ballet flats, trainer/sneakers, or even booties for when you’re in the city. When it comes to going out in the evening go for heels like some espadrilles or some pumps.

Keeping your playsuit/romper casual: Why not style your playsuit/romper with some comfortable accessories by mixing and matching in a moderate way. Add a cute fedora, a belt to cinch you in the waist, a mini bag and some summer sandals to bring the whole look together.

Playsuit/romper for a night out: Whether your going out with your girlfriends or partner, playsuits or rompers are a great alternative if you’re not in the mood for a dress or skirt that night. Try and go for ones with lace details, black or white to give you a classy style. Wear a blazer to instantly give you that elegant style your looking for. To finish the look put on some heels and you’re ready to go!

Different styles of rompers: Spaghetti straps or strapless rompers are very versatile for that casual elegant style, styled with some heels and accessories can be sexy. However, the strapless playsuit/romper can be tricky to wear on those who are large chested, since the strapless part usually do not provide enough support for your chest.  You definitely don’t want your playsuit/romper falling down while you’re dancing with your friends, and you also don’t want to keep pulling up the top of your romper all night long. To solve this problem why not purchase some double sided tape. This will attach the dress to your skin so you don’t have to worry about any accidents. Find spaghetti romper/playsuit (here)

Denim playsuits and rompers are so minimalist, so to make them stand out why not go for ones with stylish designs, details or cutouts. Give your denim playsuit or romper a pop of colour by adding a red bag and some gladiator sandals. Here is a Bardot style denim romper/playsuit (here). Red bags can be found (here) and gladiator sandals (here).
