So its my birthday today!!!!!! My husband has booked an exquisite Indian restaurant for dinner for the five of us. Its a great restaurant very family friendly and the boys love it too. They do a kids menu so the food for them is not too spicy! It”s called Roz Ana and is in Kingston Upon thames. If any of you ever visit kingston I highly recommend your try it out, as the food is absolutely delicious.
What should I wear on this special occasion?………hmmm I know! My black tuxedo blazer hardly ever gets worn. Today is the day for it to come out and make a statement. The tuxedo blazer will be my staple piece and I shall decide on the rest of the attire around it. This is a Karen Millen well tailored tuxedo blazer with fancy lapels, it is very feminine, chic and elegant. I have decided to wear mine with an ecru coloured frilly round collar shirt from Ted Baker, coated jeans which are from Guess and my black Kurt Geiger shoe boots to style it up some more.
I love wearing blazers on a daily basis anyway, so to make this stands out I have made sure that the tuxedo blazer is well fitted and structured as this will give it its tailored look. My hair has been put up in a ponytail with a poof at the front. Makeup is very minimal I have gone for a winged eyeliner with a red lipstick to finish the look.
Come on boys lets go to dinner, mama is ready! We have two hours at the restaurant as my Satchmo goes to bed by 6.30pm. He is an early riser and has been since he was a baby, wakes up at 5.00am every morning without fail. We tried everything to get him to sleep a bit longer but to no avail, so now we have come to accept the fact that he will always be an early riser. Hoping he stays awake till 7.30pm this evening. Here’s to hoping, or else poor papa is going to have to carry him into the car. He did so well and managed to stay awake, well done Satchmo!…. Cheers to my birthday and to parenting.
In my opinion every girl should own a well structured tailored tuxedo blazer as a staple piece. It can be worn in many ways, you can wear it with a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt and some heels to give it that extra feminine touch. A maxi dress with some heels will also look very stylish, or for going to work combine it with a pair of well fitted trousers. However you decide to wear yours I’m sure you will not go wrong, just stick to a well tailored tuxedo blazer.
Do let me know how you are styling your Tuxedo blazer.
